The Italian coach wanted to add some talent from his Real Madrid days, but his president ruled out those transfers because of the players' ages.

Carlo Ancelotti will have to look elsewhere for a striker, as his former pupil and main transfer target has entered a row with the man that was supposed to pay for his move.

Earlier this week, Napoli president Aurelio Di Laurentiis dismissed the idea of pushing for the French striker, since he believes that Benzema is way past his prime. The same idea applies to Angel Di Maria, who was also a transfer target for Ancelotti with the Partenopei.

"Ancelotti knows I'd like to sign young players. What am I doing trying to sign two old guys?" Di Laurentiis stated in an interview.

Needless to say, his comments were not overlooked by Karim Benzema, who aimed a jibe at Di Laurentiis via Instagram stories, quoting the president's words and adding some choice statements of his own.

Here's Benzema's story, along with the proper translation as a foot note.

"We do not take di Maria or Benzema. There is an agreement between Ancelotti and me to buy only young players. I can not take two old ones, with all the respect I have for them"

Benzema's words (in bold): "One more madman to the list! Number 9 still makes them blush!"

Needless to say, if Benzema's prospects of leaving the club were not good, after these words he will surely have no chance of doing so, at least with the blue and white side.
