The Bavarians are on the verge of capturing one of France's World Cup sensations.

German giant Bayern Munich is likely to acquire the service of Stuggart's Benjamin Pavard after activating the player's release clause. The 22-year-old, having impressed for his club side in the 2017/2018 league season, broke on to the world scene with consistent top-notch performances at the right-back position for France during their recent triumphant campaign in Russia.

Aside the World Cup winner's great runs and delivery up and down the flank, one of the major highlights of his appearance is obviously his stunningly executed volley goal which aided in the elimination of Argentina in the Round of 16 of the tournament.

According to German news outlet SWR, the €35M release clause has been activated by the Allianz Arena outfit. A deal is expected to be brokered in the coming days for the youngster to complete the switch although the initial terms associated with the clause suggest that a move away is only possible in 2019.

Pavard himself, upon returning to France after the World Cup, was adamant to commit his future to Stuggart after being quizzed by Eurosport.

"We will see, for now I am in Stuttgart, I do not know where I will be," he declared.

"I am very, very happy in Stuttgart."

Die Schwaben, on the other hand, are reportedly not interested in letting the defender leave as they like the idea of him playing one more season with the club.
