The Selecao superstar bowed out of the competition after their 2-1 loss to Belgium in the quarter-finals.

Brazil superstar left a bad taste in the mouth of many during the 2018 World Cup, one being the Mexico national team. As a result, an El Tri ace could not help but troll the attacker after the Selecao's World Cup exit.

That man was none other than Andres Guardado, who was involved in an exchange of words with the world's most expensive player. The Mexican player, prior to their run-in with Tite's side in the round of 16, stated that Neymar' "exaggerates" foul.

The PSG star then hit back after Brazil won 2-0, saying that the Mexicans "talked a lot, too much, and went home". Guardado had the last laugh, however, by taking a swipe at the 26-year-old after Belgium's 2-1 quarter-final win over the South Americans.

"And now who is going home?" the midfielder posted in an Instagram story. It may not have been the ended Neymar wished for, but it's one that he is forced to accept.

The Brazilian was tipped to guide the five-time World Cup champion to a sixth title in Russia, as they were one of the favorites leading up to the tournament. Neymar and Co. exhibited promise in the group and knockout stage but never seemed to hit top form.

To make things worse, the former Barcelona sensation became somewhat of an antagonist as his theatrics did not sit well with the public. Diving memes and trolls continue to come Neymar's way and will likely not go away anytime soon.

As for Belgium, their victory over Brazil booked their ticket to the semi-finals. The Red Devils will face another respectable adversary in the form of France, with only one of these two European giants going on to the final.
