James Rodríguez's future seems to be the topic of every press conference in which any Bayern exec appears, but this time, we have a little insight on what the Bavarian side plans to do with the out-of-favor playmaker.
Bayern's sporting Director Hasan Salihamidzic shared his views on James' contractual situation and the club's approach on it. The Colombian's loan with Die Roten ends this season, but given his disappointing performances during this campaign, Bayern is still thinking twice about triggering the player's hefty buyout clause.
"We'll see how things go during the second half of the season and we will get to the proper conclusions," the Bosnian exec stated.
Salihamidzic ruled out any intention to sign the player and then send him away in a scheme to profit from a potential transfer. If Bayern pays what Real Madrid asked for, he will go nowhere.
"This is not Bayern's style. If we decide to sign the player, then he also remains a part of Bayern," the exec added.
Rodríguez has had his share of run-ins with both coach Niko Kovac and Salihamidzic himself. The Colombian's poor form after the FIFA World Cup and a number of disciplinary breaches have seen Bayern's intentions to sign the player being put on hold. Arsenal, Manchester United and a return to Real Madrid seem to be James' options to continue playing in Europe.
