Aside from the players that were just released from World Cup duty, there are some that will not travel with the team for legal reasons.

There are a number of reasons why Manchester United will not have their full squad during this summer's North American tour, but some of those reasons are far from having anything to do with football.

Romelu Lukaku, Paul Pogba, David De Gea, Nemanja Matic and Marcus Rashford will not be available during this summer's games, and most of them may very well miss the beginning of the Premier League season on August 10 since Mourinho wants them to rest after playing in the World Cup. But one player that will miss this stage of the pre-season due to an off-the-pitch problem will be Alexis Sánchez, who had his U.S. visa application denied due to his problems with the Spanish IRS.

Sánchez's application was turned down since he has failed to reach an agreement on pending taxes from 2012 and 2013 with the Spanish IRS, forcing him to miss out on the North American tour.

Such setbacks have forced Mourinho to call up Manchester United's Academy players such as Mason Greenwood and Joshua Bohui, to fill in for those who are not available due to their duties with their respective national teams.

Mourinho also left out players that are aiming for a transfer away from Old Trafford, such as Anthony Martial.
