The last few hours have been filled with rumors surrounding Jorge Sampaoli's immediate future.

The relationship between Jorge Sampaoli and Argentina's players is not the best, and with that in mind, a number of rumors started surrounding the Argentinean national team, including one that talked about a player mutiny after their baffling loss against Croatia.

According to those reports by TyC Sports, a number of players led by Lionel Messi and Sergio Aguero requested Sampaoli to step down as boss, with 1986 champion with La Albiceleste Jorge Burruchaga taking his place. Today, the Argentinean Football Association stepped up to deny such claims.

According to a report by Clarín, the players flew back from Nizhny and went straight to their hotel. There was an optional dinner service offered to the players and staff, which neither Messi nor Sampaoli attended. Messi didn't leave his room until today's breakfast call, where he joined the rest of his team-mates.

A press release by AFA revealed that the team trained today under Sampaoli's orders, denying any rumors of a change in the team's dugout.

Furthermore, AFA boss Claudio Tapia denied any intention to sack Sampaoli right now, while adding thart giving Burruchaga control of the team was never in the cards.

The same report by Clarín states that Sampaoli will be Argentina's coach until the end of the tournament, but given the complicated relationship with the team, it's highly unlikely to see him coaching La Albiceleste after the end of this competition.
