Los Blaugranas need one more win to secure the championship thanks to Atlético's loss against Real Sociedad.

With the Copa del Rey title on the line next Saturday, Barcelona missed a golden opportunity to win La Liga's championship on Tuesday, when they saw Celta snatching a point away from them.

Ernesto Valverde's men will have to wait at least ten days to celebrate a new league championship following this mid-week's games, where none of the top four teams was able to win their games. Los Blaugranas and Real Madrid snagged a point each, while Atlético and Valencia experienced some heart-breaking losses.

The main change in La Liga's standings came late on Thursday, as Málaga became the first team to be relegated in the 2017-18 season. Levante's last-minute win against Los Boquerones practically saved the team from Valencia, since it would take a miracle for Las Palmas (13 points behind) and Deportivo la Coruña (trailing by seven points) to leapfrog them as the 17th spot.

Cristiano Ronaldo was the only player among the top four scorers in La Liga to add more goals to his tally. He is now five goals away from Lionel Messi, but neither of them will be able to score this weekend, as both Real Madrid and Barcelona will postpone their games due to the Copa del Rey final featuring Los Blaugranas and Sevilla.
