The Portuguese ace wrote a letter in which he spills details about why he devoted himself to working out every day, or how his mother passed out during his games.

Cristiano Ronaldo is known to be fond of posting aspects of his private life on social media, but speaking about how he got his start in football is not a common thing.

In a letter written by the Portuguese ace, published by The Players' Tribune, CR7 comes clean about how his late father became his first "agent", as he nearly begged his mother and sisters to go and watch him play.

"Every night at dinner, my father kept trying to recruit them to come see me play. It was like he was my first agent. I remember coming home from the matches with him and he’d say, 'Cristiano scored a goal!," the player narrated.

Even if his mother and sisters weren't seduced about the idea of watching the current Ballon D'Or holder play, Ronaldo claims that when he made his professional debut with Sporting Lisbon, his mother would often faint due to the pressure of attending his son's games.

"My mother could barely watch because of the stress. She would come to watch me play at the old Estádio José Alvalade, and she got so nervous during big games that she passed out a few times. Seriously, she passed out. The doctors started prescribing her sedatives just for my matches," the player added.

Another excerpt of the letter describes CR7's most heart-warming moment since he joined Real Madrid, and it had to be one involving his son, Cristiano Jr.

"When I was on the pitch after the final whistle, it felt like I had sent a message to the world. But then my son came on the field to celebrate with me … and it was like the snap of a finger. Suddenly, the entire emotion changed. He was running around with Marcelo’s son. We held the trophy together. Then we walked around the field, hand in hand. It is a joy that I did not understand until I was a father," the player wrote.
