Hi ! I'm in Canada and I'm following the huge FIFA U20 tournament
I have a question for the experts... On the board of the knockout stage
it says that in the round of 16, the first place of group C will face either
the 3rd place of groups A,B or F...(in Montreal, there is a possibility of Canada finishing third in group A) How does FIFA decides,for example who between Mexico or Portugal(Group C) faces which team ?

Well, if you go to FIFA.com and link to the Under-20 World cup section, you then click on the "official documents" link, and then the Rules and Regulations. It's in there around page 26.

And if you can figure it out then let me know because I read it and I still haven't a clue how they decide who plays who.

OK...I'll try a prediction as of July 7 at 4:20 p.m.

I figure the four best third place teams will come from groups A, C, D, and F.

That means that the winner of group C would play the third place team from group A.

So my prediction is that Mexico will play either Canada or Congo in the group of 16.

What do you think?

So much for my last prediction....I didn't expect Zambia to end up in second place in Group B.

I think I'll quit while I'm ahead!

Never underestimate the potential African teams have to offer. All four nations from Africa qualified for the round of 16, 3 of these are debutants.

I saw Gambia in both games at BMO field and they looked good in both. They always come out with great energy but then they seemed to trail off in the second half.

They need to get some early goals against Austria...the Austrian goaltender looked very good against Chile last night.

Now that my team Canada is out, it is time to pick some new favourites....
