First of all, I'd like to say how pleased I am with Setanta's coverage of the EPL. I think, for the price, it is an excellent product. However, being lucky enough to own a 60" widescreen TV, I sent Setanta a message regarding their intentions to show EPL games in widescreen and high def. Below is their reply.
"Right now, the problem is that 90% of our product is not filmed in HD, as it comes from Europe. However, there is a possibility that we may offer one-three EPL matches in HD but on a PPV basis. We are attempting to find out right now if subscribers would be interested in paying about $10 per game that way."
Coming from England, I know for a fact that certainly Sky are showing HD, widescreen content and I would be surprised if all matches weren't filmed in HD.
What are peoples thoughts on the HD, widescreen issue, and what do you think about paying an extra $10 per game for the privilege?
