Hi,
Anybody heard anything about the new sports channel RCS, seemingly being run by TLN I.E. when palnned to start up. is it an offshoot of Setanta USA etc.

According to the CRTC website, Telelatino was granted 2 licences earlier this year. One for RCS, and one for SoccerTelevision.

SoccerTelevision will be an English language service and will broadcast games form Europe. No start-up date has been announced but the licence runs till 2012.

It is a category-2 channel which means the cable and satellite companies don't have to carry it. They probably will but I'm sure Expressvu will have it on Tier-2 which means you'll need to modify the equipment and install a dual LNB.

The thing that astonishes me is that in Canada, where the main networks rate soccer somewhere alongside ten-pin bowling, we may now have some of the best soccer coverage on the planet. I can assure you that the UK has nowhere near the live coverage we will have.

And I love it!!!

Kudos to all the sports channels for making this possible. They have stuck with soccer and now are reaping the benefits. So are we!!!

For the past couple of months I have been hearing various rumours about a Setanta Canada being approved by the CRTC. Can you confirm whether the station is going to be a reality or not? If it is going to happen, when do you plan to start broadcasting?
