Post subject: spanish announcers just as bad
trust me the announcers on spanish language are just as bad. they are in a studio. What we should ask for is the original announce tracks from audiovisual sport they come in english (as sometimes used) or the original from spain spanish announcers especially the 3pm sunday game which features michael robinson from canal +.

A rep for Goltv said a few weeks ago that Goltv would be available on the Videotron Illico digital cable system sometime between Dec. 15th and 25th. So far nothing! I did receive a somewhat different e-mail response from Videotron a few days back, where they say that Goltv has been approved and that they hope to make it available soon. If you send them an email requesting it they put you on a email list to notify you as soon as it is available. So keep on emailing them!

Bell ExpressVu does not have GolTV, it doesn't matter where you point the darn thing. I have emailed them a few times now, they keep saying this is in negotiations. What the hell is there to negotiate? I am getting Rogers instead.

I don`t know what to think anymore about this situation with Goltv and the different satelite and cable providers. Nobody seems to want to give you a clear answer! The only sure thing is that Rogers cable offers it in Ontario. The rest is BS at this point! A rep for Goltv said a few weeks ago that a deal was done with Videotron, but when you call their customer service, they don`t know what the hell your talking about! Bellexpressvu, at least in Quebec, is even worse, they don`t even know what the channel is about. I had to tell the customer service employee that answered me that it was a soccer channel approved by the CRTC a long time ago and available on Rogers, she kept understanding the GOLF channel!!! And how about Goltv Canada? You would think they would be able to tell you what is going on, what are the deals with the providers, when the channels will be launched with each provider, etc... The only answer you get from them is to contact your provider!!! If anyone that reads this forum has some inside info on what to expect, it would be greatly apreciated.

Gol Tv tells you to contact your provider and when you do that, they have no clue and never heard the name gol tv...
Right now, it's not gol tv Canada, it's gol tv on Rogers in Ontario...

I've send my 30th e-mail to Videotron or so regarding Gol-TV.
They told me that they still are negociating for the rights to show the channel.
My guess is that to acquire Gol TV, Videotron has to accept other channels in the deal and they are probably reluctant to pay fees for other channels that won't earn them profits.

Same here! I started emailing Goltv Canada regularly too. I think we should start emailing both Videotron and Goltv Canada, using the term Goltv Ontario! Maybe they will get the message.

We're not missing anything
Are you kidding me, La Liga is the only freakin' league where the title has not been decided yet. I'm not able to see Zidane, Ronaldhino and co and you are telling me that i'm not missing anything. The only Liga game i was able to attend because of my busy schedule this year was Madrid-Barcelona. I'm pretty sure i missed a lot of good stuff.
I know the commentary is quite bad and i'm generally first to whine about that, heck at worst watch the game with the sound off and put some music instead.
I remember watching Serie A games with Italian commentary from a guy who had as much emotion describing the game as i have when i do the dishes.

I have been calling Shaw Cable in Alberta and get much of the same. Nobody has heard of the channel and they have no idea if they will be getting it. Is there any real news as to when we might be able to watch La Liga?

Regarding Goltv and Videotron. A friend that has business relations with a Goltv rep has just told me that Goltv should be launched on Videotron in January and should be offered to the Illico customers free of charge for some months before charging a fee. This is the same source that said it would be available on Videotron before December 25th! So looking at how things have been going so far, we have to wonder in january of what year??!!! Customer service say the same old thing: "we are working on it, we hope to be able to offer it soon". I am determined to call and email them every week until they get it!

St. Etienne, I think that you have hit the nail on the head, so to speak. I am convinced that more than likely what you have stated is true, that being that no one else has picked up Gol TV yet because Insight Sports (who runs the channel) is forcing the cable and satellite cos. to pick up their other channels too (CGTV & WFN)!
This is very common in the US where Discovery and Viacom (to name a couple) own several different channels and when a contract is up they try and force the provider to add any new junk channels that they have launched. This is actually going on now with Dish Network where Lifetime (womens channel) is trying to force Dish to add a new channel it has and so far neither side is budging.
Now back to Gol TV, if you notice Rogers carries all 3 of the channel that Insight Sports owns, but it looks like Videotron, Expressvu or whomever else, does not want to add all 3. I am quite sure that if they were 'allowed' to add only Gol TV then you would be enjoying watching that channel right now. I am not sure what can be done, at this point I would say Expressvu is closer to launching Gol TV only because they agreed to carry CGTV a while back and Gol TV is uplinked (as some have pointed out) so all they have to do is agree to add WFN and then the channels will probably launch at some point.
By the Way, CGTV is a gambling channel and WFN is an all-fishing channel. [Crap bascially, which is probably why no one wants to add them, Gol TV is probably the only one that has alot of demand].
My best advice is keep bugging Insight Sports, maybe if everyone drives them crazy they may change their minds and allow the providers to just add Gol TV!
One final note, Gol TV on Rogers is supposedly going to be on free preview for 1 YEAR!! so the same should apply to anyone else who launches it.

I am sick and tired of this “CRTC”, their law is probably from 1950’s, something about having % of Canadian programming. Well we live in a different world now. Who cares if a channel is totally non-Canadian.
They are many foreign channels on every cable or satellite provider. I get BBC world, they hardly ever mention Canada.

Like I said before, InsightSports confirmed it and just for the fun I sent an e-mail to Videotron and they didn't know sh**. They said they were still negociating.
But still, the guy at Insight Sports knows a lot more than the Videotron rep.

Great news. I did get the same response to my e-mail from Insight Sports. You made my day. I can't wait to follow soccer from Spain every week.

Man,this commentary is absolutely brutal.Surely to the Lord above, there has to be some better help out there, somewhere.Watching Sunday's match between Celta and Real(which should have been a draw by the way and I am a HUGE Real fan) was like torture.Partly the way Real played but mostly listening to that GD American and Englishman totally butcher up the commentary. For you guy's who don't have the channel yet,BE WARNED!!!The commentary can and will be hazardous to your health.
