Does any one know any French bar in Vancouver? I want to watch the final world cup game on Sunday, between France and Italy. Since I am cheering for France, I want to go to a French bar.

Thanks for the info. By the way the one in the commercial drive, is it really a French Bar? Commercial Drive is an Italian area. And the risk of watching the game with all the Italy Fans is a little scary.

There really is no French particular bar in Vancouver. Most of the French establishments are fine dining restaurants which don't cater to soccer fans.

The Stella has been a place for Western European supporters to get together to watch the games if there is no other place for them to get together. There was a large French following there on Wednesday and I would expect an even larger one for the final.

The Italians will have many places to choose from on Commecial Drive for sure but you can bet the Stella will be an Italian free zone on Sunday. No matter who wins Commercial Drive is the place to catch the atmosphere of World Cup fever!

I just heard on the radio that Doolin's Irish Pub at 654 Nelson Street (Nelson at Granville) are making themselves the unofficial home to French supporters for the WC final. You may wish to check it out if you feel Commercial Drive will be too intimidating.
