Post Post subject: EPL Sunday game on FSWC and Sky Sports News at Midnight
Just got sent the following link and had a look.

http://www.canwestmediaworks.com/advertising/broadcast/television/specialty/foxsports/fallSchedule.asp

If this is accurate then FSWC is now showing the 11:00 Sunday game live (no more score) But nothing is mentioned for the 9:00 game.

Also if it is true FSWC is bringing back Sky Sports News at Midnight eastern.

Hopefully this is true -- But knowing how Global/Canwest treats FSWC it may just be bulls**t

That would be brilliant. FSWR is doing my head in more and more each day. I only watch the first 5-10 minutes now.

The only times that I watch more than that is Mondays and Fridays because of Bobby.

Does anybody happen to know what's going on w/the score's broadcast of the Premiership?

Just got the Setanta news letter and it has the following for the EPL coverage on the Setanta USA channel:

"English Premier League (on the channel!)

Saturday
745am et 1 match (US only) LIVE

10am et 2 matches - 1st and 3rd choice, 1st choice LIVE
12pm et 3rd choice delayed at noon (a great fixture at this live time would be put LIVE on an alternative DTV channel)

Sunday
830am et LIVE

Wednesday (8 -10 times / year) LIVE"

This raises some concerns - I see the 7:45 Saturday match is US only (a term we all know too well from the Fox World Report) - I hope that does not mean PPV or going to a bar.

Also for the Sunday and Wednesday games - does that mean we North of the boarder again have to get the remote out for PPV.

I really wish I had my Directv back !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi, Got this as well. I think Sportsnet took the early Sat game from Fox so hopefully they can continue this with Setanta although Setanta have very much seemed to hold everything to themselves. All may be revealed after Sunday when we can check the Sportsnet schedule for that Sat. See that FSWC are to show Chelsea v Liverpool live (so far, anyway!).

Not sure about all of this. From what I've been hearing, Setanta broadcasts DTH in the US, and to licensed establishments in Canada. EPL rights in Canada are re-bought by cable networks such as Sportsnet and FSWC, mainly through the Fox Soccer Channel.

It may be that Setanta has first kick at whatever games are available on any given day, but I can't see it having a huge effect on home viewing in this country.

The last attempt at PPV for EPL games in canada was, by all accounts, an unmitigated disaster.

Having said all that, Setanta is a ruthless outfit, and seems hell-bent on dominating the EPL international rights packages. The days of 4 or 5 live EPL games per week might well be numbered. Lets hope not. I live and breath the EPL but will not pay $15 to see one game on PPV.

I called all 3 stations yesterday I was told the following TheScore has lost the Sundays games to FSWC while sportsnet will still be showing 3 games on Saturdays plus they are in negotations to get the FA CUP. FSWC as mentioned will be bringing SkySports to the program. As for today's game with Chelsea and the MLS stars on the tv schedule here it says FSWC is to show the game but I checked the TV program and shows nothing. Gol TV will start showing German Soccer this year.

Maybe they should propose a package like NFL SUnday ticket or NHL Centre Ice at a reasonable price for Sunday Games. I guess the rights are soooo expensive, but if Setanta wanted to make a little cash, an NHL-style package would work. I have the NHL package and I am very satisfied with it, even at $200/season.

I agree, but I guess they figure most of us have VCR's or PVR's, so they don't care. Plus we wouldn't want to pre-empt a 10-month-old Serie "A" game or a 2-week old Aussie Rules game.

Just checked the FSWC schedule through the "canada.com" portal and it shows an EPL game on Sunday August 20, with teams to be announced.....but.....at 1.00pm Eastern. Which means they are on a 2-hour delay Evil or Very Mad

Also I couldn't find any mention of Sky Sports News.
