The UEFA Champions League finalist doesn't believe his style of play can thrive with Messi around.

Following Antoine Griezmann's dramatical snub, Barcelona keeps trying to add talent to their squad, even if they have to pay big bucks to sign such players.

With the transfer window well underway after the end of the FIFA World Cup, Los Blaugranas tried to lure away from the Premier League one of their best footballers, who was also the winner of the 2017-18 Golden Boot: Mohamed Salah. According to Don Balón, the Spanish champions kicked off negotiations to sign the Egyptian ace with a $210M bid, but they were turned down by the player's agent.

The main reason for Salah's decision, according to Don Balón's article, is the presence of Lionel Messi. The Egyptian footballer respects "La Pulga", and since both of them use to play on the right flank, he believes that switching his spot would undermine his chances of success at Barcelona.

Salah even referred to Dybala's situation when Messi is around with Argentina. Both of them play the same position, and Messi's presence diminishes Dybala's playing time with La Albiceleste. The Egyptian ace believes that the same thing would happen to him if he decided to join the Spanish giants.

Meanwhile, Salah has already joined Liverpool's pre-season in the U.S., with his sights set on repeating the impressive form he showed in his debut season in the Premier League.
