The Merseyside giant can kiss goodbye to the exit rumors after the Egyptian put pen to paper on a new and lucrative deal.

Real Madrid has been handed a huge blow in their reported Mohamed Salah chase, as the attacker has signed a new long-term deal with Liverpool. After his amazing debut season, his current employers took a huge step in securing his services for years to come.

The Egyptian superstar put pen to paper on a new five-year deal with the Reds which should kill off rumors of an exit. This means he is contracted at Anfield until 2023 and is rumored to have doubled his wages to roughly $263,000 per week.

Additionally, no release clause has been inserted in his new deal, which means Liverpool would not have to sell if a big-buyer came along. Los Blancos was one club linked with the Ballon d'Or contender in a bid to bolster their aging attack, but the ship now appears to have sailed.

Manager Jurgen Klopp expressed his excitement at seeing his top-scorer commit his future to the club. After scoring 44 goals in 52 games for the Merseyside giant en route to a fourth-place finish in the Premier League and a runner-up finish in the Champions League, he will prove detrimental to the club's ambitions for next season.

The German boss told the club's official website: "I think this news can be seen for what it is; rewarding a person who performed and contributed greatly to the team and the club last season. It demonstrates two things very clearly also – his belief in Liverpool and our belief in him. We want world-class talent to see they have a home at Anfield where they can fulfill all their professional dreams and ambitions – we are working hard together to achieve this.

"When someone like Mo Salah commits and says this place is my home now, it speaks very loudly I think. Equally, our commitment to him says we see his value and want him to grow even more and get even better within our environment."

The 26-year-old will look to build on his stellar 2017/18 campaign by getting his hands on silverware. However, he will not return to the club anytime soon as he has been handed an extended break after his disappointing World Cup run with Egypt that ended in a group-stage exit.
