The French star revealed he wouldn't join Barcelona this summer in a one-hour documentary, with Piqué even promoting its broadcast.

Antoine Griezmann's decision to snub Barcelona didn't go down well among the team's execs, and one of their footballers may have to pay a price for his involvement in how the Frenchman revealed his decision.

That player is none other than Gerard Piqué. The Spanish international owns a production company called Kosmos, which was in charge of producing the one-hour documentary in which Griezmann revealed he would keep playing for Los Colchoneros.

Barcelona's execs believe that Piqué had first-hand information on this matter, and they feel that Piqué could have told them in advance about Griezmann's decision, so they could begin looking for other transfer options.

Speaking after the event where Los Blaugranas unveiled Eric Abidal as their new technical secretary, Barça exec Jordi Mestre revealed that the team will have a strong word with Piqué and other members of the team, since they could have shared first-hand info they surely had before Griezmann shared his decision with the world.

"I'm not satisfied, and we regret that some of our associates were disappointed with the scenary chosen to reveal the final decision. We have told Piqué that his involvement caused surprise and anger inside the club and among Barcelona fans. We will have a conversation with Piqué and Umtiti and we will cease to talk about this matter publicly," Mestre stated.

Piqué's involvement in this matter didn't end with his production company being in charge of the documentary, since he even promoted it on social media.

According to reports, Piqué didn't know about Griezmann's decision until the very day when the documentary was aired. Added to that, Samuel Umtiti also made a cameo appearance in the video, which explains Barcelona execs being annoyed with the French defender as well.
