Coach Ernesto Valverde decided to rotate his squad for tonight's game against Celta, marking the end of a 16-year streak for Los Blaugranas.

Barcelona's impressive form in recent years has been fueled by their excellent homegrown footballers, which include players such as Lionel Messi, Xavi Hernández, Andrés Iniesta, Gerard Piqué and many more.

Today, mainly because the team has an all-important Copa del Rey clash against Sevilla next weekend, coach Ernesto Valverde decided to rotate most of his usual lineup, with the exception of goalkeeper Marc-André Ter Stegen.

This was Barcelona's lineup against Celta today.

This decision by Valverde ended Barcelona's 16-year streak of including at least one homegrown player in their lineup. Will this be Barcelona's new trend, or young talents will keep emerging from La Masía? Only time will tell.
