Former Stamford Bridge goalkeeper Petr Cech played a huge role in Messi’s goalscoring hoodoo, as La Pulga had to wait until the custodian joined Arsenal to score past him. Luckily, the Barcelona legend will come across a different foe, Thibaut Courtois, one he knows very well.
Prior to his Premier League arrival, the Belgian shot-stopper had crossed paths with the Camp Nou icon 10 times during his time at Atletico Madrid. In those run-ins, Messi had scored six times against Courtois.
