Sergio Ramos and Co. haven't been at their best during the current season, but maybe their experience could give them an edge over the best offensive line in the tournament.

Regardless of Zinedine Zidane's confident speech, his chances of keeping Real Madrid's coaching job rely on what the team can do to eliminate PSG.

With arguably the best attacking unit in the tournament, Les Parisiens seem to hold all the cards for the first leg. But even if they haven't played their best football this season, Los Blancos' defense still has the experience to hold Neymar, Cavani and Mbappé.

Here's how Zidane's men have done in the current competition.

On the other hand, here are PSG's results in the competition.

Without further ado, let's have a look at how the first leg of this tie could be solved if Real Madrid's defense can hold their ground against the most prolific attack in the competition.

1. Nacho, Real Madrid's solution?

The homegrown player will be in charge of stopping none other than Neymar due to Dani Carvajal's ban, and his team-mates couldn't be happier. The Spanish defender has been rather consistent for Zidane's men, usually delivering good performances for Los Blancos. In fact, members of the press have demanded Zidane to use him more frequently in Raphael Varane's spot, since the Frenchman has failed to replicate his form of old. Being as Madridista as they come (he's spent almost 17 years with the team), this will be a challenge that could cement his spot as the next Real Madrid icon.

Nacho has played 27 games for Real Madrid in all comps this season, scoring four goals and being booked five times.

2. Marcelo's experience vs Mbappé's youth

Brazilian defender Marcelo has been under serious questioning during the course of this season, as he's experienced some distractions that have proven to be rather expensive for Real Madrid (for example, the late goal scored by Villarreal came after a defensive blunder by the Brazilian). Nevertheless, Marcelo usually steps up his game in UEFA Champions League games, and this time, his contribution in the defensive end will be key to stop one of the hottest prospects in the game: Kylian Mbappé.

Added to that, if the Brazilian left back can contribute up front, things might be looking up for Los Blancos, considering the following numbers.

3. Sergio Ramos' leadership and the UEFA Champions League legend

There's something about the UEFA Champions League that motivates even the most cold-blooded player, and Sergio Ramos is not the exception. Yes, the Spaniard accumulates as many red cards (2) as goals (2) this year, but Real Madrid's captain has shown he can handle at least one of his opponents, since he held Edinson Cavani to two goalless displays in their UEFA Champions League meetings in the 2015-16 season. That, and his key contributions on offense, could very well give Los Blancos the edge over Les Parisiens.

Will there be a new dinasty emerging in the UEFA Champions League? Or will the current champions defend their ground and keep their title hopes alive?
