Sergio Ramos scored his side’s opener in their game against Levante to take his all-time goal tally for Los Blancos in La Liga to 50.

There are only a handful of defenders who have reached the landmark of 50 goals in La Liga, and Real Madrid skipper Sergio Ramos joined that illustrious list on Saturday night after scoring against Levante.

The defender was in the right place at the right time to head home a corner kick put into the box by Toni Kross just 11 minutes inside the first half.

His feat further saw him becoming the only defender to ever score in 14 La Liga seasons in a row. However, his historic moment was marred by a rather poor piece of defending 31 minutes later.

Following a quick counterattack by Levante, the 31-year-old center back alongside his defensive partner, Raphael Varane, failed to clear an initial effort saved by goalkeeper Keylor Navas.

Their side was then punished by an onrushing Emmanuel Boateng who slotted home the rebound to tie the game for the hosts before the end of the first 45 minutes.

Los Blancos were again pinned backed via a late equalizer from Giampaolo Pazzini after substitute Isco had put them 2:1 ahead inside the 81st minute.
