The Spanish goalkeeper has been subject to several rumors about his future, and a recent interview will fuel some more of those.

Ever since the fax incident between Real Madrid and Manchester United, David De Gea's future with the team has been in jeopardy. Today, an interview by Sky Sports will surely make waves, depending on how you interpret the goalie's words.

The Spanish international refused to talk about a contract extension with the team, even though his deal with the Red Devils expires in 2019. Nevertheless, his refusal is fueled by the amount of work the team will have to deal with in the next few weeks.

"I don't think it's the time to start talking about the future, it's not the time to be talking contracts. We have lots of games between now and the end of the season and the first thing we need to think about is Burnley this weekend," De Gea stated in the interview.

But even if that could mean he's thinking about leaving the team, the shot-stopper dismissed claims about being unhappy with Mourinho's crew.

"Just being part of this club is special in itself. Being a player and a part of this club is special, so when you get to wear the shirt, you go to away games, that's something you are always proud of and is very special," the goalkeeper added.

The goalkeeper has been in stellar form during the season, keeping 13 clean sheets for Manchester United.

While contract negotiations between himself and the club seem to be ongoing, it's safe to say that linking the player's future with the club will be one of Ed Woodward's major tasks to achieve with Real Madrid waiting to lure him away once again.
