Toronto FC are hoping to become the first ever MLS outfit to win a domestic treble (domestic cup, MLS Cup, and supporters' shield) in franchise history
If the Reds win, they will become the first Canadian side to win the Cup
If Seattle Sounders, who won it in 2016 win it again, they would become the fourth team to win back-to-back cups
The other three sides to have achieved this are D.C. United (1996,1997) Houston Dynamo (2006,2007), and LA Galaxy (2011, 2012)
Last year was the first ever finals appearance for both Toronto FC and Seattle Sounders
If Toronto FC fail to win, they will become the second team after Houston Dynamo (2011, 2012) to earn back-to-back runners-up awards

A major concern for the hosts will be the fitness of star striker Jozy Altidore, who is reportedly struggling with an ankle injury, but the big striker is still expected to start this fixture.

Seattle

Seattle will be missing both skipper Osvaldo Alonso as well as Brad Evans for this fixture, but other from that the visitors will have everyone of note available.

It's going to be nothing short of a grudge match for Toronto, who lost this same fixture in heart-breaking fashion nearly exactly a year ago. After a scoreless stalemate, Seattle managed to edge out the Reds 5-4 in a tense penalty shoot to win their first ever title.
