Toni Kroos' move from Bayern to Real Madrid left a few broken hearts in Munich, but apparently, the player is convinced about the choice he made.

Speaking to DFB's website, the footballer came clean about the feelings he experienced when leaving Bayern, especially during the current turmoil lived inside Die Roten's locker room after Ancelotti's sacking.

"From my own point of view, I couldn't have taken a better decision. Clearly, if you join an even bigger club when you decide to play abroad, it's a step forward in your career. Carlo Ancelotti bet hard on me, and three years after that moment, my balance has to be very positive," Kroos stated.

The German international has won nine trophies with Los Blancos, including two UEFA Champions League titles and three UEFA Super Cups.

Kroos, who earned the nickname "Metronome" in Spain for his accurate passing skills, thanked Pep Guardiola for helping him develop into a better player.

"The year I spent with Pep at Bayern was great. He gave me a key role in his system, which fit me like a glove. My skills developed and I turned into a much better footballer," the player added.

Before the interview concluded, Kroos also took time to praise Zinedien Zidane, since he's proven to trust his skills by starting him in key games.

"He knows I'm reliable. He knows that I'll always be there for the team. I can feel his trust, and we have a great relationship. Having that is crucial for every player," Kroos concluded.
