The nominees for The Best Men's Player, Women's Player, Men's Coach, and Goalkeeper were announced.

On Friday, FIFA announced the finalists for each of their The Best categories. A total of seven prizes are up for grabs, with three finalists being named for each award ahead of choosing a winner in the highly-anticipated gala.

Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, and Neymar were the three finalists for the best men’s player.  The Real Madrid superstar is the defending champion and favorite, with his two South American rivals fighting to usurp him.

Cristiano isn’t the only defending champion to be fighting for a title, as The Best Women’s Player 2016 Carli Lloyd is in contention for a second consecutive crown. She faces competition from Deyna Castellanos and Barcelona star Lieke Martens.

Zinedine Zidane, who missed out on The Best Men’s Coach last year to Claudio Ranieri, is the favorite to win the title this time around after clinching the Champions League and La Liga. He must beat Premier League winner Antonio Conte, and Serie A champion Massimiliano Allegri.

Allegri wasn’t the only Juventus man to be honored with a nomination, as legendary Italian custodian Gianluigi Buffon was given a nod for The Best Goalkeeper award. Keylor Navas, who Buffon lost the Champions League final to, was also nominated.

The Puskas nominees were also revealed, as Mario Mandzukic, Kevin-Prince Boateng, Nemanja Matic, and Olivier Giroud were shortlisted for the best goal award. Henrikh Mkhitartan, who also scored a memorable scorpion-kick goal, was snubbed however.
