Philippe Coutinho has been dominating the transfer rumors as of late. The Brazilian has emerged as Barcelona’s number one target, leading to frenzy in the media similar to the one leading up to Neymar’s exit.
Several rumors claim the deal is almost over the finish line, as the Blaugrana look to sign the Liverpool ace to fill the void left in their attack. Fans confident of seeing the Premier League ace in a Barcelona jersey soon have now had their hopes dashed by Guillem Balague.
The Spanish football expert has poured water over speculation, taking to Twitter to rubbish the rumors with four tweets. In his social media revelation, Balague offered three reasons why Coutinho’s Camp Nou switch is far from completion.

On Tuesday, a report claiming that three Barcelona officials traveled to England to wrap up the £100m deal emerged. Balague, on the other hand, writes that the Catalan giants have not made another offer since seeing their £72m bid get immediately rejected.

Then there is the belief that Coutinho has asked for the move. Balague has also refuted this claim, tweeting that the Brazilian has not handed in a transfer request and is not acting unprofessionally in order to force a switch.

Furthermore, the Sky Sports pundit insists that there is no basis behind claims Barcelona will unveil the former Inter Milan man on Friday.
Ousmane Demebele remains an option for the Copa del Rey champions, but Borussia Dortmund are asking for a hefty fee for the up-and-coming Frenchman.
