Who qualified for the 2017-18 UEFA Champions League?

Bayern Munich, as champions of Germany, will have a chance to again try their luck in the Champions League. Die Roten haven't won the competition since 2013 and have been repeatedly thwarted at the semi-finals stage by Spanish opposition. RB Leipzig, who were in their first ever appearance in the top flight, managed to finish in second place and now their fairy tale will continue as they will also join die Roten in Europe's premier club competition. Borussia Dortmund will join the aforementioned duo as Germany's third automatic representative, whilst Hoffenheim will have to await who their opponent will be, with the drawing set to take place shortly.

Who qualified for the 2017-18 UEFA Europa League?

Because Dortmund won the DFB-Pokal, Hertha Berlin will join Koln in the Europa League group stage. Germany could also have a third represenative in Europe's second-tier club competition if Freiburg can successfully navigate their way past a two-legged third-round play-off against Slovak outfit NK Domzale - and then another play-off round that will be determined shortly.

What were the biggest summer transfers?

Some of the biggest signings are Bayern Munich's acquisitions of Corentin Tolisso from Lyon for €41.5M and James Rodriguez on a 2-year loan deal from Bayern Munich, whilst Borussia Dortmund spent €20M to bring in Maximilian Philipp from Freiburg. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been linked with a move away, as has Bayern's Renato Sanches, and it remains to be seen what other transfer moves transpire before the window shuts next month.

What were the biggest managerial changes before the start of the season?

Arguably the biggest managerial change was the sacking of Borussia Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel. Despite helping die Schwarzgelben clinch the DFB Pokal - eliminating Bayern Munich along the way - issues with the board saw Tuchel dismissed, and former Ajax boss Peter Bosz was appointed in his stead. Mainz also fired Martin Schmidt this past May and hired Sandro Schwarz a week later, whilst Turkish tactician Tayfun Korkut's contract expired at Bayer Leverkusen, so he was replaced by Heiko Herrlich. Finally, Schalke also opted to make some modifications, dismissing Markus Weinzierl and bringing in young German-Italian tactician Domenico Tedesco in a bid to revive the club's fortunes this season.
