Global Broadcasters for Portuguese Primeira Liga

Primeira Liga (2017-18 Season) – USA Broadcasters

In USA, Primeira Liga streams will be available on premium digital platform fuboTV, which also carries Benfica TV—the official TV service of Portuguese side SL Benfica. Satellite and cable broadcaster Univision Deportes is also expected to carry select matches live, along with international network RTP Internacional (RTPi).

Primeira Liga (2017-18 Season) – Canada Broadcasters

In Canada, live Primeira Liga action will be accessible via fuboTV Canada. The subscription-based streaming service, which has apps for various devices and platforms, will simulcast matches aired on Benfica TV in addition to its exclusive streams.

Primeira Liga (2017-18 Season) – UK Broadcasters

BT Sport will air live games on BT Sport ESPN and BT Sport Extra. Matches picked by the network will be streamed live on the BT Sport app.

Primeira Liga (2017-18 Season) - Australian Broadcasters

Due to the lack of broadcast deals for the Portuguese League, viewers in Australia may have to rely on RTPi for select games throughout the season.

Who qualified for the 2017-18 UEFA Champions League?
Benfica, as champions, again qualified for the latest edition of the Champions League. They will be joined by Porto, who finished in second. Meanwhile, Sporting CP, who rounded out the top three, will have to feature in a two-legged play-off, and their opponent will be determined on August 4th.

Who qualified for the 2017-18 UEFA Europa League?
Vitória de Guimarães will be the Primeira Liga's automatic representative in the Europa League. Meanwhile, Braga and Maritimo, who finished in fifth and sixth respectively are in action on July 27th and August 3rd in the third qualifying round. Braga will face either Israeli side Beitar Jerusalem or Bulgarian outfit Botev Plovdiv. Maritimo's opponent will be either Bosnian side Željezničar Sarajevo or Sweden's AIK.

What were the biggest summer transfers?

Some of the players who departed the Primeira Liga include Porto's Andre Silva, in a €38M move to AC Milan, whilst Benfica duo Victor Lindelöf and Nélson Semedo departed for Manchester United and Barcelona in deals worth €35M and €30.5M respectively. 

What were the biggest managerial changes before the start of the season?

Porto boss Nuno Espírito Santo resigned in May, and has been replaced by Sérgio Conceição as of June 8th. Other from that, there have not been much changes in who's on the tactician's bench in this league.

Other changes to note?

Portugal dropped from fifth to seventh place in the UEFA association coefficient rankings at the end of the 2016-17 season. As a result, the league has lost one of its UEFA Champions League berths.
