The Colombian ace is still on loan with The Bavarian side, and reports from Spain linked him with a shocking return to the Spanish capital.

Fans that got their hopes up about James Rodríguez's possible return to Real Madrid have been handed a massive blow, as newly-appointed boss Niko Kovac killed any chance of letting the Colombian ace go.

The former Croatian footballer stuck to Rodríguez's contract with Bayern. The Colombian playmaker arrived last year to Allianz Arena on a two-year loan deal, and there is no clause in that contract that could force Die Roten to set him free.

"All I know is that James is here on a loan deal, which is still valid. When that two-year loan comes to an end, we have to decide if we pay the transfer fee that Real has demanded. As of today, it is pretty clear that James Rodríguez will keep playing for us," Kovac stated.

The player's return to the Bernabeu was the object of speculation for the last couple of weeks, and those rumors kept on flowing right after Cristiano Ronaldo left the club. Today, it seems that Spanish fans will have to wait a bit longer to watch Rodríguez wearing Real Madrid's jersey again.
