Los Cafeteros' boss is hoping for the quick return of his star man.

Colombia and England are set to battle for a ticket to the quart-final when they come face-to-face in on Tuesday. However, an injury sustained by James Rodriguez in the final group game against Senegal casts serious doubt on his involvement in the impending encounter.

With the rest of his teammates preparing in full gear, the 26-year-old No. 10 was seen going through light stretching routine and having conversations with the medical staff during Monday’s training. However, head-coach of Colombia Jose Pekerman emphasized at his pre-match press conference that it might be too early to pull James out of the encounter after positive results were accrued from his medical examination.

"We have had good news after his medical tests," said manager Jose Pekerman at his pre-match press conference on Monday afternoon.

"After his MRI we know he doesn't have a serious injury. We still have one and a half days to see how he feels and, as always, we hope he will be able to play for the following games."

Having been bombarded with follow-up questions as to whether James will be included in the squad for the game, the Argentinian coach said: "You will know my team one hour before kick-off."
