Croatian midfielder Ivan Rakitic didn't hide his desire to see Cristiano Ronaldo leaving Los Blaugranas' bitter rival this summer.

The  rivalry between Real Madrid and Barcelona is well documented, and if one of Los Blancos' greatest players of all time decides to leave them, it would only be good news for Barcelona.

That's what Ivan Rakitic hinted earlier today, as he referred to the possibility of seeing the Portuguese ace leaving the Bernabeu this summer. According to the Croatian midfielder, CR7's departure from Los Blancos would leave a lot of dry eyes among Barcelona's footballers and fans.

"I find it hard to believe that they will let him go. He's the one who really makes the difference at Real Madrid. But I'm not going to lie, if he ends up leaving, I'd be really happy," Rakitic stated.

Cristiano Ronaldo's departure from the Spanish giants has been the talk of the summer, especially since Florentino Pérez hasn't shown signs of wanting to satisfy the player's wage demands.

In another Real Madrid-related topic, Rakitic decided to praise former Los Blancos' manager Zinedine Zidane, who decided to leave the club after winning a third-straight UEFA Champions League title.

"My hat goes off to him. His stint with them was simply impressive, only a handful of coaches would have done what he did. I wish him all the best in the future. He's made history at Real Madrid and that deserves our respect,"Rakitic added.

Rakitic is currently focused on the FIFA World Cup with his national team. Croatia will fight for a spot in the next round in Group D against Argentina, Iceland and Nigeria.
