The former Athletic Club boss is considering a shocking departure from Barcelona due to some leaked words by a team exec.

The man behind Barcelona's successes this season could not fulfill his two-year deal with Los Blaugranas, as Ernesto Valverde is considering to leave the club by the end of the season.

The reason for this decision, according to reports coming in from Catalunya, has to do with some quotes that leaked after Barcelona arrived into Madrid to play the Copa del Rey final last Saturday.

Those quotes referred that a portion fo Barça's board was having doubts about Valverde's future with the club, stating that the coach faced a possible sacking if they lost the Final against Sevilla. Apparently, these words were caused by Barcelona's debacle in the UEFA Champions League, which caused severe criticism from players and team execs.

But now, the tables have turned, as Valverde is considering to leave the club by the end of the season, since he knows that not all of Barcelona's board supports his decisions on the pitch, according to reports by the Daily Mail and Mundo Deportivo, the outlet that leaked the words that infuriated Valverde and the squad.

Staff members and even the players are aware of Valverde's thoughts and have asked him to keep coaching the club next season, but Valverde could very well pack his bags if the board doesn't provide him its full support when things go wrong.
