USA’s Women’s National Team will face Mexico in a two-legged friendly game prior to the Women's World Cup qualifiers.

According to US Soccer Federation's official website, both friendly games are scheduled for April this year. The first leg is tabled for April 5, and will take place inside the EverBank Field in Jacksonville, Florida. The second leg will be subsequently played on Sunday, April 8, at the BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston.

The hosts are expected to go all out to make a real statement of intent considering there is the likelihood of them crossing paths with their neighboring country in the CONCACAF Women’s World Cup qualifiers bound to take place in October. The USWNT has lost and drawn a game apiece in 34 meetings across all competitions versus Mexico.

The only victory for the Mexicans was in the semifinal of the CONCACAF qualifying games leading to the 2011 Women’s World Cup held in Germany. Las Tri won by two goals to one. However, the last game between both countries saw the USWNT running off with a 5-1 win prior to the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup.
