Sunday's Merseyside Derby was historical for a couple of reasons. First off, weather conditions made it one of the coldest in history. The other one had to do with Wayne Rooney, as he scored his eighth goal of the season at Anfield, ending his goalscoring drought in the Merseyside Derby.
The former Manchester United player had never scored for Everton against their bitter-rivals, and he managed to do so with a well-placed penalty near the end of the game.

Added to that, the English striker seems to be having a revival after some experts expected him to drop in form after leaving Manchester United.
