About Argentina - Primera Division

The Argentina Primera Division is Argentina's top football league. It is regarded as one of the best football leagues in the world of soccer with some of the best emerging talent being derived from this league. 20 football clubs participate in the Argentine Primera Division. The current champion for the 2013-14 season is River Plate. They are also the most decorated Argentine Football Club with 36 Titles. The league is divided into 2 parts; the Argentina Apertura, which starts in August to December, and the Argentina Clausura, which starts in February and ends in June. There are 19 games played per tournament for a total of 38 football matches for a full season. Without a doubt, the most awaited matches from this competition are those between Boca Juniors and Riverplate, also refererred to as the Superclasico or Clasico Argentino.
