Rádio Clube do Pará History, Coverage, Features
Radio Clube do Pará is a Brazilian radio station. It was founded on April 22, 1928 and is currently owned and operated by the RBA Communication Group. It was the first radio station to go on the air in the Northeastern region of Brazil.
Over the years, Radio Clube do Pará’s broadcasts have revolved around entertainment, journalism, and sports. The radio station was able to air shows with some of Brazil’s brightest stars in music, but the appearance of FM broadcasters and the golden age of television hindered their chances of keeping that up.
Speaking about sports, Radio Clube do Pará has aired Pan American games, Olympic Games, domestic football cups, and FIFA World Cups. The radio station has expanded its coverage when it comes to Brazilian football, airing content related to regional teams such as Paysandu, Remo, and Tuna Luso. Games for the Brazilian National Team have also been aired in the past by this radio station.
The radio station briefly ceased its broadcasts on June 9, 2017 due to a lawsuit filed against the owners by the Federal Public Ministry. Fortunately for their fans, Radio Clube do Pará was back on air two weeks later.
The radio station is available on the AM band, on some pay-tv carriers in Brazil, and via webcast.
