About
NOS History, Coverage, Features
The Dutch Broadcasting Foundation, or Nederlandse Omroep Stichting (NOS), is a public service broadcaster from the Netherlands, which has provided radio television and online news coverage since its launch on May 29, 1969. It is obliged by Dutch authorities to provide news and sports coverage for all public TV stations as well as for its radio counterparts.
Over the years, NOS has produced a wide variety of programs, with its contents being focused on news, sports, political events, and children’s programming. Most major events have been covered by the public service entity with the help of all domestic TV stations.
Speaking about sports, NOS has focused its coverage on airing content related to tennis, football, ice skating, cycling, and field hockey, among other disciplines. Some of the events covered by NOS have included different editions of the Summer Olympics and the FIFA World Cup. Added to that, Eredivisie games were also covered by NOS throughout time both live and via highlights shows. Radio shows and coverage has tried to replicate the same content offered on TV.
The content produced by NOS might be available on any of the Dutch public or private channels, and it will be up to the networks to decide the format in which the content is aired.
The published listings of live, re-aired, and on-demand match and program events published on this website are broadcast by the official rights holders.
