Football Goals and Videos - September 29, 2007

Sunday, September 30th, 2007

Portsmouth 7 - Reading 4 (Premier League, September 29, 2007) Pompey went goal crazy, with Benjani netting a hat-trick in Premier League’s highest scoring game of all-time. After two early Benjani goals, Hunt struck on the stroke of half time and David James then gifted Kitson an equaliser. Goals of the week - Sept 26

Saturday, September 29th, 2007

Manchester United 0 - Coventry 2 (League Cup, September 26, 2007) Coventry, backed by 11,000 fans, went ahead when Michael Mifsud turned in Michael Doyle’s cross. And Mifsud killed off United, firing high into the net after Jay Tabb fashioned an opening.

Hull 0 - Chelsea 4 (League Cup, September 26, 2007) Hull managed to hold off a much-changed Chelsea side until the 37th minute when Scott Sinclair struck with a low drive - his first goal for the club. Kalou headed in the second just after half-time before Steve Sidwell’s swerving strike quickly made it three. Kalou completed a convincing win by crashing home a drive.

Tottenham 2 - Middlesborough 0 (League Cup, September 26, 2007) Spurs finally went ahead through Bale, as he sprung the offside trap before rounding Brad Jones and slotting home. The win was wrapped up as Huddlestone headed home after great work from Lennon down the right.
