2008 MLS All-Star Game Thursday on ESPN

David Beckham, Cuauhtémoc Blanco, Landon Donovan and MLS Best vs. English Premier League’s West Ham United FC; First MLS All-Star Event at Toronto’s BMO Field

ESPN will present live coverage of the 2008 Pepsi MLS All-Star Game Thursday, July 24, beginning at 7 p.m. ET from BMO Field in Toronto, Canada.  The game, on ESPN as part of a special presentation of MLS Primetime Thursday series, will feature the MLS All-Stars versus West Ham United of the English Premier League.

Los Angeles Galaxy’s David Beckham, a former captain of England’s National Team, and Chicago Fire’s Cuauhtémoc Blanco, a Mexican National Team player, will make their MLS All-Star debuts as teammates.  Other notable MLS All-Stars include: Landon Donovan, who leads the league with 12 goals in 24 matches; Houston Dynamo attacking midfielder and Canadian National Team player Dwayne De Rosario; Colorado Rapids and U.S. National Team player Pablo Mastroeni; New England Revolution midfielder Shalrie Joseph; and Columbus Crew and U.S. National Team defender Frankie Hejduk.

ESPN and ABC’s lead soccer play-by-play and analyst team for U.S. National Team and MLS Primetime Thursday, JP Dellacamera and John Harkes, will call the action, with sideline reporter Allen Hopkins.  Rob Stone and Julie Foudy will host the coverage including, a pre-game show at 7 p.m. and the halftime show live from BMO Field.
