Globo TV Sports will broadcast the final rounds of the Brazilian Cup

Vasco x Flamengo face off in a historic match

The Brazilian distributor Globo TV Sports is offering its clients an exclusive broadcast of the Brazilian Cup finals between Flamengo and Vasco. This is the first time that the two largest football clubs in Rio de Janeiro – among the top rivals in Brazilian football – will face off in the Brazilian Cup.

Flamengo is the most popular club in Brazil, with over 31 million fans. It is the only team in the country with five national titles. In 1981, it won the Libertadores da America Cup as well as the Toyota Cup - World Championship against Liverpool, in Tokyo.

Vasco is one of the top teams in Brazil. It won the Libertadores da America Cup in 1998, the Brazilian National Championship in 1997 and 2000, and the Mercosul Cup in the same year. According to statistics, Vasco has more than 10 million fans in the country.

The games will be held in the legendary Maracanã stadium on the 19th and 26th of July, at 9:45pm (Brazilian time) – 12:45am (GMT). Transmission will utilize the highest standards of technological quality and the experience of TV Globo in covering important sporting events, such as the FIFA World Cup and the Olympic Games.
