GolTV wins rights to German World Cup qualifiers

US-based soccer network, GolTV, has won the exclusive US and Canada broadcast rights to all of the German national team 2010 World Cup qualifying matches starting in September.

GolTV will broadcast the matches to North American cable, satellite and telco subscribers. GolTV will also exclusively air six of Germany’s friendly games, including live coverage of Germany’s match against England.

“We jumped at the opportunity to bring our viewers the non-stop action

of Germany’s qualifying matches,” said Constantino Voulgaris, EVP of

programming and new business development at GolTV. “Our rights to the

German qualifiers demonstrate our commitment to providing North American

soccer fans the opportunity to see the best matches played in every corner

of the world without leaving the comfort of their living rooms.”

In 2008, GolTV will also air exclusive coverage of Copa Del Rey, Coppa Italia (Italian Cup) and other World Cup qualifiers.
