Annual Tournament Brings Together World’s Top Clubs in Japan

 

LOS ANGELES, CA — November 29, 2007 — For the third consecutive year, Fox Soccer Channel will offer live and exclusive English-language coverage of the FIFA Club World Cup 2007 presented by Toyota, taking place in Japan from December 7 to 16.

 

The FIFA Club World Cup is an annual tournament that brings together the reigning champions of FIFA’s six major continental competitions, all looking to be crowned the world’s best club team for 2007. 


This year’s participants are: UEFA Champions League winner AC Milan (Italy), CONMEBOL Copa Libertadores champion Boca Juniors (Argentina), CONCACAF Champions’ Cup winner Pachuca (Mexico), CAF Champions League titlist Étoile Sportive du Sahel (Tunisia), OFC Champions League winner Waitakere United (New Zealand), AFC Champions League titlist and tournament host Urawa Red Diamonds (Japan) as well as AFC runner-up Sepahan (Iran).

 

Fox Soccer Channel’s coverage of the FIFA Club World Cup 2007 presented by Toyota commences with the playoff match between Sepahan and Waitakere United on Friday, December 7 at 5:30 a.m. ET and includes live telecasts of two quarterfinal and two semifinal matches, the third place match and the final, which will take place at International Stadium Yokohama on Sunday, December 16 at 5:00 a.m. ET.
