Gimnastic 2 - Barcelona 1 (Catalan Cup Final, September 11, 2007) Vazquez had put Barca in front, but Pinilla levelled matters before Maldonado’s sweetly struck volley won the cup for Nastic.

Germany 11 - Argentina 0 (Women’s World Cup, September 10, 2007) Defending champions Germany began the Women’s World Cup in style as they set a new record score for the tournament by crushing Argentina 11-0. Birgit Prinz and Sandra Smisek each scored hat-tricks.
England 2 - Japan 2 (Women’s World Cup, September 11, 2007) Aya Miyama scored her second goal of the game with a 30-yard free-kick with five seconds left remaining. England’s Kelly Smith bagged an impressive brace.
USA 2 - North Korea 2 (Women’s World Cup, September 11, 2007) The Americans, ranked No 1 in the world, needed goal from Heather O’Reilly to salvage a draw. (Watch out for the awful American goalkeeping on Korea’s first goal.)
